Hello Family & Friends,
I wanted to drop all of you a note saying hello and sharing something with you that may be of interest to you. For the past five years or so, I have been actively listening  and taking notes for myself, to Gyani Harinder Singh ji’s  Katha’s. He usually comes here once a year and is pretty easy to understand because he speaks easy Panjabi, and some English, and repeats his points of view in many different ways with stories and examples. I like to listen to him, and there are some  really  basic as well as some really intense thought processes he brings to the forefront.
He captured y attention when he spoke about the three most important questions every huma being should ask themselves…and that if everyone actually asked these questions and looked into their answers…this world would be different.

  1. Main Kaun Haan? (Who Am I?)
  2. Main Kyo Haan? (Why am I?)
  3. Main is duniya wich kis liye aaya haan? (What is my purpose?)

I just wanted to let all of you know that he is here till January 10th and  is speaking daily – usually on weekdays from 7:30pm to 8:30pm , Sundays during the day, at Buena Park Gurdwara. Tomorrow night he will be speaking from 10:15pm to 11:15pm.  We brought in our new year with him at the Gurdwara last year and it has probably been the best New Years Eve I have ever had. We are planning on doing the same this year…hope to see you all there.
No pressure, just sharing an opportunity with you to make avail of if you so desire. Tonight he will be speaking from 7:45pm to 8:45pm.
If you are available, come and listen. Feel free to share this information with anyone you think may be interested.
Last Night, he spoke about the importance of Language (Bhasha) and its effect on us. Here are some of my notes…

Language can give your life new dimension. If you remove language from a human being, what is the difference between human beings and animals? Language is our medium of communication. Language is not just a connection of words …it gives our life meaning. Remove the word “Ji” and the meaning changes. A son that removes “ji”when addressing his parents looses the liyakat (respect) from that relationship. Words create vibrations that touch each other. You cannot respect someone you feel is smaller than you.
Samrat di Seva _One side of the coin as offered in Din Ren Baani. Samrat is someone who has everything ( the guru). When we serve someone lower than us, its feeds our akankaar (ego). It makes us feel better about ourselves. Wadey (Someone bigger than us) di seva does not feed our ego. Guru di Seva Naal Ahankaar khatam honda hai…The seva of the guru ends ego. Only the Nirmal( Pure/kind) individual is capable of doing Guru ki Seva. Once you have removed all ego from doing Guru ki Seva (Seva of the Samrat) we are are able to do Seva of the community to enjoy the pure pleasure and joy of that Seva. Only when you have done Seva of the Samrat can you get to a place of realization of this fact. Sometimes the realization only comes once one has gone down the wrong path. If the person starts living in the wrong path/way…they may never realize that they are living in the wrong path…or even what wrong is.
Tonight he will discuss the other Type of Seva discussed in the Din Ren Baani.

Wishing you and your families a very happy and peaceful new year.
With Love
Sumita
